Mould and Odour Remediation

Mould Surveys and Remediation

We are fully trained to IICRC standards in Mould Remediation and have a tremendous amount of experience in this field.

We have all the necessary equipment to remove and dispose of any Mould contaminated surfaces quickly and efficiently.

Moulds produce tiny spores to reproduce. Mould spores waft through the indoor and outdoor air continually. When mould spores land on a damp spot indoors, they may begin growing and digesting whatever they are growing on in order to survive.

There are moulds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet and foods. When excessive moisture or water accumulates indoors, mould growth will often occur, particularly if the moisture problem remains undiscovered or un-addressed.

There is no practical way to eliminate all mould and mould spores in the indoor environment; the way to control indoor mould growth is to control moisture.

Mould is classed as a category one risk to health, as assessed under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System 2000, which is the same class as asbestos.

Mould Surveys

Mould surveys are designed to quickly and efficiently find the causes of mould proliferation in residential and commercial properties, whether caused by lifestyle issues or moisture ingress due to defects.

All surveys are conducted in a timely and professional manner to isolate the causes and be cost effective. Please see - Mould Surveys Page

Lifestyle

This pertains to issues created by specific lifestyles. Faulty or incorrectly adjusted ventilation fans in bathrooms, shower rooms and kitchens. Tumble driers installed incorrectly, not venting to the outside. Insufficient heating and high humidity. Drying of clothes on radiators etc.

Moisture Issues in Properties

Moisture in properties due to previous or present water leaks, rising damp, faulty or incorrectly installed windows and doors, leaking roofs, faulty guttering and downpipes can lead to water ingress. The increase in evaporation which raises the humidity can lead to condensation and mould growth.

Thermdry offers the following surveys-

a. Moisture survey - Basic survey to highlight faults with a short email report.

b. Moisture survey - Intermediate survey to highlight defects and methods to overcome issues with a written report and photographs.

c. Moisture survey - Advanced Survey to highlight defects and methods to overcome issues with a written report, photographs and thermal imaging assessment.
